Safety's not our usual approach to biking.
It's usually 3rd or 4th on the list. After "Speed" and "Looking Good".
And maybe "Making it Faster".
We get reminded however, from time to time, that "Safety" is a consideration worth making.
It's usually after we hear of another keen biker - having made his treasured bike faster than it ever was, handle better than when it was new - then proceed to turn it into a wheelbarrow load of scrap.
When The Brakes Fail.
There are several possible explanations:
* A brake hose failure (biff those old rubber lines).
* A bolt wasn't tightened or checked.
* A brake hose rubbed against a tire when a mudguard was removed.
* OR...the master cylinder failed.
Using 30-year-old master cylinders on bikes isn't smart.
You're betting that the previous owners were fussy about brake maintenance and changed that fluid often, and that old, acidic brake fluid hasn't corroded the bore or eaten the seals.
So, to try and minimise the tears at the upcoming CAMS Southern Classic | CAMS Racing we're doing the "Brembo Brake Master Cylinders For Bugger All" deal, again. AND like last year, we're giving a couple away to lucky riders that weekend.
Trying to keep you buggers a little safer.
